The Life and Times of a Pulsar
Pulsars don't last very long. It takes like 10 to 100 million years for a pulsar to basically give up its energy by beaming it out into space. In something like 99% of the pulsars that ever pulsed are no longer pulsing. Then they're just neutron stars, right? They're still hot and blobs of neutrons. They're just not emitting anymore.
