You can download the entire fully functional package for free. The only thing that it doesn't allow, you got to pay for this, is syncing to like something like iCloud. But all the data is kept on your hard drive. If you want a copy of it sent to iCloud, by all means, pay $8 a month. Otherwise, the free version actually is more secure in my opinion.
