The prefrontal cortex, through the first few years of life, is doing all sorts of things in terms of the number of synapses that occur. And there's continued pruning that kind of happens around the end of adolescence, at the start of adulthood,. after this point. This is the last area of the brain to finish complete develop a the rough age is about 25. It helps us make complex decisions, and it also helps us kind of keep ourselves in check when we're trying to learn.
