The Importance of Reading Einstein's Paper on General Relativity

You were reading Einstein's books and papers even in high school. You made one of your goals to not just read but understand his original paper on general relativity. By the time you entered college at the University of Chicago you thought you had achieved that. In hindsight do you think you've genuinely understood it at the time? Well yes and no. I certainly did not at that time have the background to really conceptualize where it fit or why it was a big step past Newton.
