The Spartans and the Agenitans in the Peloponnese

The Agenitian refugees flooded into the Peloponnese. The Spartans settled them in Theria, a region on the border between Laconia and the Argalid that extends down to the sea. During the summer, Athens also increased security in the important northeastern corner of their empire. By winning over the formerly hostile Prince Nymphodorus of Abdera, they made him their Proxinos (diplomatic agent) He helped bring an alliance with his brother-in-law Satalkis of the Udrizian Kingdom of Thrace.
