In his new book, Reality Plus, Neil deGrasse Tyson argues that the tools we use can become parts of our mind. He says technology is basically becoming an extension of our minds. In a 1998 paper, he and Andy Clark argued that these tools can actually become part of the thinking process themselves as extensions of the brain.
