Why Is English the World's Language?
english was in the right place at the right time because of the united states and the british empire. The vikings are also largely responsible for phrasel verbs. English is like more orless the language of the world, if you travel to places where it's spoken. It has nothing to do with being simple but about hard and soft power combined.
