Connie's Secret Life
Connie Converse was a singer-songwriter from New York City in the 1950s. Her brother Phil said he thought she might have been gay. She may have kept any romance as a secret because it was not socially accepted at the time. It was around this time that her new set of friends bestowed her with the name Connie, finally freeing her from her given name.
