I prefer to go at it from the other direction and say, what API do I wish I had? And what do I Wish I could say? And just like, type that out and then make it real. It's a lot nicer if you can keep those incidental details out of your controllers. You don't want to have to spell out all the details of how that happens in the controller because that's not what's relevant in that place. The trade-off here is that you are going to end up with very white APIs or very white interfaces in your inserting entities in your domain.
