The Importance of Non-Shattering Hair in Guide Dogs
Poodles fit the bill because their fur is hypoallergenic. This means they shed less hair and cause less severe reactions to people who are allergic to dogs. Wally tried 31 poodles over a two-year period but none were up to the job. He used one of our best breeding bitches with a poodle - brandy. Sultan passed his guide dog exams with flying colours.
