The Importance of Having an Audience for Your Work

Having an authentic audience doesn't just raise the stakes for the kids, it also means that the standards of quality come in part from the response of the audience to what you're doing. So I think the authentic audience is really important for two reasons: One, it's because the stakes are higher. It feels more real. And then finally, there was an authentic audience for the work. Like the kids are doing something that is not just going to be turned into their teacher at the end of the day.
