The first time this really struck me was maybe my third or fourth read through. There's a section where Charles Ryder is meeting with the younger sister of Sebastian, his friend and reputed lover. And Cordelia says, I heard he was dying, she said, a down and out called flight whom the father's found starving and taken in at a monastery near Carthage. So this struck me as very interesting that Sebastian's journey is one that you see, which is very much like this.
