The Reluctant Theologian Podcast

CHAPTER

The Doctrine of Creation Ex Nihilo

The doctrine of creation ex nihilo states that at some time in the finite past, god brought the world into being without any material s. So i think we're getting closer to understanding your claim that god is timeless son's creation, than temporal with creation. On a relational view, whether this is a timeless state of affairs will depend on whether or not there is an infinite regress of events prior to creation. If the series of s events had a beginning, then we must eventually encounter a boundary of time and a state of timelessness. And since it has arrived, the series of past events must be finite.
