I Struggle With the Sort of Sectarianism That You Can Find in Buddhism

As a queer man, as a gay man, i had to really grapple with that quite early on. I think the seeds of that were some of what caused my aversion to christianity in the first place. With buddhism, i needed to feel that whatever i believe is something that's rooted in reality and in rationality - even if it doesn't necessarily ali with mainsweeping ideology. It took having great teachers including tantra guru Shashank Joshi for me to be able to integrate my sexuality into Buddhist tradition. And then being able to make my own decision about whether or not to have an active sexual misconduct at all.
