The Importance of Natural Resources in the Economy
Growth now is always just going to be unsustainable because it just means sort of depleting natural resources and so on. If we'd been speaking a few hundred years ago, but if I'd known more economics than anyone knew at the time, I would have probably mentioned laboring land or maybe labor land in capital. And now land is kind of an insignificant input to production; you don't want to grow unsustainably and unclap. The sooner we realize that and slow down and work toward a sustainable plateau of global consumption the better,.
