The Darwinian Theory of Evolution
Darwinian evolution in particular was just so in line I think with angles and Marx's conception of dialectics and historical materialism. Yes, there's no chapter specifically on Darwin in anti-during but in the index of the book there are nine references to Darwin. So he was not ignored. When Darwin came out, Marx and Engels, you're perfectly correct. They went like crazy fans of Darwin, the groupies. The stages of savagery, barbarism and civilization which Marx and Engels thought was, wow, this guy is also independently discovered.
