The Importance of Parent Training for ADHD Children

Most medication for ADHD children is prescribed by pediatricians. Pediatricians training does not include much training at all on psychosocial approaches to working with children's medical problems or their behavior problems. The AAP has done a very good job of putting guidelines out telling physicians you should be doing parent training. You should be either doing it or having your nurses do it or refer your patients to somebody who is.
