Trump Is Still Like a Live Hand Grenade in the Republican Party
Even after he's lost an election for them, most Republicans seem unwilling or unable to break fully with him. The harshest criticisms of that dinner made by Mike Pence didn't even characterize Trump himself as a racist or anti-Semite. He's still like a live hand grenade in the Republican party. No one wants to really pick it up and throw it. They really would prefer to hide by it and not have to deal with it at all.
