Despite our long standing knowledge of these parasites and their existence, there doesn't really seem to be much improvement regarding the widespread prevalence of lushmaniasis. Not just death, not just disfiguration leading to stigma, but its role in the cycle of poverty,. It is one of the biggest contributors to that. Widespread travel, civil unrest, land use change, global climate change have all led to the emergence of different forms of lushmaniacs.
