The Importance of Exit Surveys
I don't think it's a status symbol, mainly because most people don't know that you're a patron. But we can see through our exit surveys, the vast majority of mine are because their financial situation changed. If someone is in the position of having to choose between their heating bill and my podcast, the podcast goes for ours. My Patreon is almost entirely news dependent. When we are farther away from our presidential election, my patronage goes down. And now I presume it will probably go up by hundreds.
