ZK EVM in ZK Zinc

In our last episode, we actually did talk about this idea of this roll up existing on its own with validators and like having somewhat of its own ecosystem. And I'm kind of curious here what you've described with the ZK EVM in ZK Zinc. Like do you have in a way your own consensus mechanism happening there anyway? Or are the validators doing something more passive than what we see in normal POS systems?

In today’s episode, Anna chats with Alex Gluchowski, CEO at Matter Labs and co-creator of zkSync, to catch up on Matter Labs’s latest developments in extending Ethereum’s capabilities with zk proofs.

Alex explains the recent progress in porting Solidity to a zkRollup and how that interacts with the Zinc language and zk proof circuits. They then move on to discussing Ethereum scalability with a deep dive on rollup architecture and the upcoming zkPorter, a solution for sharded zkRollups that’s being developed by Matter Labs.
