The Importance of Conversation in Filmmaking
I remember reading a filmmaker who will remain nameless when I was back in film school. He took great umbrage at how someone had read the film and they hadn't read it in a derogatory way. And he thought, wow, you know, even if you don't believe in letting someone have the interpretation, it's probably better just to keep your mouth shut. It just wants to keep stay open to the idea that somebody's going to see something in there that maybe you didn't intend. But the absolute, absolutely. Absolutely.
