In the Eighties, There Was This Pressure to Stay Indian in America

I feel like so much of the way you interact with indian culture, whatever that means to you in the states, often depends on when you came here and under what circumstances. For me, the example i always think about is food. There's just a lot of eating every time e see each other. I started thinking about it more politically when those protests were, and still are, happening. Just thinking more about who makes it so that i can have these connections? Almost. The bollywood movies are sort of an extension of that, of this feeling of holding on to something and not losing a connection.
