Being is not a property of experience, Lucas says. Experience would have to be present first in order for being or isness to be the property of experience. The question was not, are you aware of an absence of experience? It's just abstract philosophy because nobody has ever had or could ever have an experience in the absence of awareness. So it's an abstract idea that there's no relationship whatsoever to our experience.
