A novelist named Matthew Pearl is writing a novel about Poe. He speaks to pathologists and he says, well, we know this thing in the skull, couldn't have been a brain 30 years later, but could it be a tumor? And the pathologist said, yeah, because under the right circumstances, tumors can calcify the hard masses. So that could explain the erratic behavior. That could explain some of the difficulties with cognition. But again, it's a it takes a bridge of assumptions to reach that, right? Yeah.
