Dr. Birkenbach, we see that the guidelines suggest use of protocolized sedation. The main advantages with protocolization are that medications can be given or infusions adjusted based on the desired sedation target automatically without there being a phone call or a page to a physician for every change. In most of the reports that were available to us, including the restore trial, this person was primarily the bedside nurse.
