The Sun Rises Every Day for Millions of Years Because God Sees and Says That It Is Good
The sun rises every day for billions of years because God's like, again. Because He takes delight in it and says that it is good. The world is utterly contingent. It has no external necessity. God is under no internal compulsion to create. He gains nothing from creating. He loses nothing but by not creating. We can't think of God's causal and creative powers the way the deists think of it. To say let it be is also to say, it is good that it is. That's the pattern of Genesis 1, is it not?
