Are There Advantages to Participatory Design?

There's different reasons that people do participatory design in general, right? So i want this design to be betterto work better, so i need the knowledge of these people. Some people do it for mutual learning. And then there are some people who do it specifically for what i would call change after the design. From a justice prespective, like youre creating things for people they should have a say in and how that works. I guess the best way to think of it is from an epistemological perspective. What happens in western societies, especially post enlightenment, we've lionized and valorized a specific way of knowing. This is what i call main stream institutional knowledge
