The Stone Town

Vance: This is a total Vance kind of pull, right? It reminds me so much of Gail of Severean. The moment he steps off the path, he's vulnerable. He goes through an abandoned Stone Town in the mountains. Wolf was thinking of dying Earth or trying to allude to it, we don't have any idea. But it certainly seems like there is some pretty clear parallels or some resonant parallels.
