Granite and the Franciscan Complex

There are lots of agate deposits in the Bay Area. It is a semi-precious gem and you can tumble it right. Albany Hill is sandstone, not granite. The Franciscan complex is formed in the subduction zone that California used to be until about 25 million years ago.
