Body Self Critique Is the Dual Process of Turning on the Ons and Turning Off the Offs

Many of us are taught that unless we conform to the culturally constructed aspirational beauty ideal, we don't deserve pleasure. No one ever actually gets permission culturally to love their bodies. The thing in your brain that makes sexual response happen is called the dual control model. And it sends a turn on signal that many of us are familiar with. At the same time and in parallel, you have breaks that are noticing all the good reasons not to be turned on right now.
