The main attraction of alternative data is to gain information advantage over other more conventional sources of data. A critical application of alternative data for us in Japan Organ Asset Management is an ESG investing. In JPM Organ Asset Management, we use AI to provide new information and ways of flagging early on whether a company may have a brewing ESG controversy that could send its stock price plunging.
