Protests and Speaking Up Can Make a Difference

Iranian state media called for the US to get a 10 game suspension because altering another country's flag is against FIFA rules. The US soccer team made news last week when it played Iran in the World Cup and before the match, the US Soccer Federation broadcast an image of the Iranian flag with the Islamic Republic symbols removed. And most recently, after months of protests all over the world, an Iranian official suggested Iran may have decided to abolish the morality police.
