It's almost like you're asking your cold brain to come on the scene immediately but your hot brain is in the driving seat so it's a bit of a catch 22. If you could notice that you were and calm yourself down then we'd all be grand wouldn't we? That's why I like behavioral practice be it breathing pacing listening to something like we described and actually doing something rather than asking somebody for help.
