The Gospel of Grace

The first half of the story illustrates the gospel, but only so far. It only goes so far because what the widow did is somewhat understandable, maybe even excusable. And the price for her crime was only ten dollars, but in the gospel we are guilty of gross rebellion. We're guilty of insurrection and treason, and the price is not ten dollars. It is our lives. That's what justice demands. What will cause us to trust him in everything? Give our lives to him, cherish him, love him, trust him. Let's pray.
