The Block Project, the Non Profit Facing Homelessness

Facing homelessness is a non-profit organization that helps the homeless in New York City. The group has started building block homes for people who are not facing homelessness to help them get back on their feet. Founder Mary Lafferty says she and her daughter, gene fer lafener, came up with the idea after meeting every Friday morning over coffee. "We don't end homelessness unless community gets involved, like radically involved," they say.
