The Republican Party's Incentive Structure Hasn't Changed Much in the Last 10 Years
The Republican Party has had its moments where it tries to find slightly better, slightly more talented politicians to fit in that role. But the party elite thinks that they can manipulate and corral and contain these forces of extremism within the party,. And every time that they try to do that, they get run over by those forces. So I am not optimistic, absent much more dramatic incentive changes.
