People with more accurate attitudes towards aging live longer, an average of seven and a half years longer. People who don't equate aging with disease are less likely to develop Alzheimer's even if they have the gene that predisposes them to the disease. Older people can be the most ages of all because we've had a lifetime to internalize these messages and never thought to challenge them.
