The Role of Maps in the Voting Rights Act
Since Shelby County, we have had massive new efforts to restrict access to the ballot and in particular in the last three years. Most of that has not been struck down but maps are a critical fight right now. Ellen versus Milligan was an important case about map drawing under section two of the Voting Rights Act. And so it's almost like you could read Milligan as a mea culpa by Chief Justice Roberts for Shelby County.
