The Importance of State Reconstruction in the Russian War

The guiding ideology of the Ataman Regimes was state reconstruction, like most of his counterparts in the military wing of the white movement. As historian Willard Sanderland describes the ideology inspiring Ungern and his warlord colleague, Drigori Seminov. The Bolsheviks had purposefully destroyed Russia's state power and state tradition as such they were the ultimate anti-patriots. Ungern is now free to leave out his vision of the war as he saw fit.
