How Long Should a Nephrologist Be on IV Fluids?
In critically ill ICU patients, perturbed ADHD can last quite a period of time. D5 is not a lot of dextrose and it's certainly not enough to provide your daily glucose needs or to prevent you from truly flipping over into a catabolic state. If this is a short-term need, you probably don't need to get too fancy with the composition of fluids. Really you just want to keep them in a good place and do it as safely as possible.
