The Crisis in Yugoslavia in the 1980s

In the 1980s, local Kosovo Serbs started complaining more and more about experiencing oppression at the hands of Albanian majority. This spurred the rise of Serbian nationalism; increasing conflict brought attention to Western authorities. The solution that was found was one simple principle, no change of borders of republics which was then copied and applied to Yugoslavia. But this hurt very much the interest of Serbs who lived in most of the republics of former Yugoslavia.
