The Confederate Memorial

Thaddeus stevens was the architect and prime mover of the two amendments that enshrined in the constitution the abolition of slavery. He spent the last years of his life fighting the people in power who wasted no time in trying to undercut and circumvent those rights. There's another memorial out in the battlefield, and we're just going to stop there quickly on our way out. It's right off the main road, a monument to the men of north carolina who fought for the confederacy.
