The Boston Molasses Disaster

On January 15th 1919 one of America's strangest disasters struck Boston. A giant storage tank holding more than two million gallons of molasses Collapsed and crashed into the city streets Workers were trapped in sellers residents smothered in their beds children were swept out to the harbor. The flood was over in 10 minutes, but the harrowing rescue efforts continued for hours.
