The patient's not going to get better right away because the nerves have suffered some damage in the demyelinating variants. The nadir is usually at around two or so weeks into this illness. Even patients who are intubated with Gambere syndrome, very severely ill, can make a full recovery. So yeah, I would suspect unless John has some other tricks up his sleeve here of what happened to this patient and they saw a whole bunch of cells and CSF that we weren't expecting to see,. This certainly sounds like Miller Fisher syndrome.
