What Is the Time Scale of Life on Earth?
We still don't know how long it takes for life to emerge. We've found so far the best we can say is that it takes no more than a billion years, one billion years on earth. It could have formed in a much shorter time scale, but those records have been lost. Titonics have recycled a lot of previous bits of evidence here on earth. So we can maybe assume that as an upper bound. But come back to that question of weird life, life as we don't know it as well.
