The Importance of Catholic Guilt
I think there is a temptation to think it's just the liturgy that was the problem or the way that it was done. I have no concept of Catholic guilt. You know, like you go through medieval history, you find constantly the church begging the laity to receive the U chris more often. And so even the celebration of their ordinary, like a daily Latin mass probably has a different tone and feel to it today than it would have if you were at St Mary's of perpetual responsibility 100 years ago.
