i think augustin was maybe the first a kind of, at least in the christian tradition, a sort of crack the conundrum of good and evil. Our experience tells us that something is deeply wrong when murder occurs, when theft occurs, when rape occurs. And i think that's, in a sense, all most people need to move forward into a notion that the world is good, but is being perverted in certain ways.
