I love how you can look back and see things like the dots connecting in a way that you couldn't see at the time. My grandfather, my momdad, was a humanitarian worker in guatemala city for like 20 years when i was growing up. I've always been surrounded by immigrants and never have had to think about it. The stakes were so high. And i was just scared to get involved. It's its adictive.
