Avianca's Mixed Cabin Pricing Magic
United Miles is a good option, but you could get there with United Miles. Virgin Atlantic has fewer restrictions than A&A and they charge only 62,500 for one way. If you're trying to connect on somewhere in Australia, then you may be able to pay even fewer miles because of the way Avianca runs their mixed cabin pricing. Air Canada starts off a little bit cheaper, 75 K and 70 K versus life miles. But if you add on more segments, Air Canada will become more expensive with with life miles though - that's just how it works.
